IMPORTANT DATES

  • April 22nd, 2022: Civilian voter registration deadline for the 2022 statewide primary.
  • April 28th, 2022: One-stop, in-person early voting period begins for the 2022 statewide primary.
  • May 10th, 2022: Deadline for civilians to submit an absentee ballot request form for the 2022 statewide primary.
  • May 14th, 2022: One-stop, in-person early voting period ends for the 2022 statewide primary.
  • May 17th, 2022: Election Day for the 2022 statewide primary and civilian absentee ballot return deadline.
 

SAME DAY REGISTRATION

 

When you check in to vote at an early voting site, you may update your name or address within the same county if necessary. Individuals who are not registered to vote in a county may register and immediately vote at that same site. ABSENTEE BY MAIL VOTING

 

Any North Carolina registered voter may request, receive, and vote a mail-in absentee ballot. No special circumstance or reason is needed. Registered voters in North Carolina must request an absentee ballot with an official N.C. Absentee Ballot Request Form. To access and submit the form: Click “Option 1 – Request an Absentee Ballot” at the N.C. Absentee Ballot Portal.
